According to this report, following repeated calls from followers of Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Wahid Khorasani and asking him about spending religious funds for the earthquake victims of Khoi city in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province, he expressed his sympathy and recommended sending shipments of essential supplies and necessities to the earthquake victims in the early days of the incident, with advice to the relevant authorities with regard to handling the situation of the people affected by the earthquake as quickly as possible, The Grand Ayatollah said,” Muslim believers are allowed to spend one third of the Imam's share to meet the needs of earthquake victims in Khoy city.”
