Hawzah News Agency – Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, held a session of talks with Deputy Speaker of Iranian Shura Council Ali Nikzad and an accompanying delegation that covered issues of mutual concern.
Mikdad described as “deeply-rooted” the relations between Syria and Iran in the political, economic and parliamentary domains, saying that Syria is very interested in the parliamentary diplomacy and its important role during this stage.
He condemned the unilateral measures imposed by the US and its western allies on each of Syria and Iran, describing them as “immoral.”
Nikzad, for his part, affirmed determination of Damascus and Tehran, alike, for serious endeavors to reach genuine trade and economic partnership, particularly during the reconstruction process.
“I am here in Damascus to meet Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly and senior officials to have consultations on all issues related to activating economic and parliamentary relations and increasing the volume of trade exchange.
Nikzad, in a press statement following the meeting, said that strategic relations between Syria and Iran will never untie and “we have common vision towards international developments,” affirming his country’s continuous support for Syria during the reconstruction process.
“Those who don’t want the existence of Syria and Iran should apologize from History, had it not been for the blood of martyrs in both countries that defeated Daesh, there won’t be a safe Europe as resilience of President Bashar al-Assad led to the resilience of Syria,” Nikzad said.
He reaffirmed his country’s rejection of any foreign interventions and the US unilateral sanctions against Syria.
