Iran’s Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs Ensieh Khazali and the UN Women's Executive Director Sima Sami Bahous discussed Iran’s positions regarding the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and issues related to early marriage of girls.

Hawzah News Agency – The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 66th meeting of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).

The two sides reviewed Iran's services to Afghan asylum seekers and women dropouts, women's economic empowerment programs at the national level and in the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), achievements in raising awareness of women in rural areas and in the face of natural disasters, supporting working women by providing facilities like, remote working, nine months maternity leave, and mechanisms for maintaining women's safety in the workplace.

They also discussed Iran’s positions regarding the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and issues related to early marriage of girls.
