Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) - Speaking at the hail and farewell ceremony for the new and former heads of Hawzah News Agency in Qom on Tuesday, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, head of Iranian seminaries, congratulated Journalists' Day to Iranian media, especially those who publish news related to Iranian seminaries' activities.
In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Arafi highlighted the importance of journalism and news publications asserting, "The main essence of religion is to bring news about the afterlife; the very nature of divine religions is to bring mankind messages of the hereafter; Considering the word 'messenger', which is often used to refer to a prophet, one realizes that the purpose of every religion is to warn people of the afterlife and open their minds to the realities of afterlife. This is the essence of prophethood and Imamate," Hawzah reported.
"The official media of Iranian seminaries must serve as the voice of seminary scholars and students; it must adhere to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei's guidelines as well as the other prominent scholars. Special attention must also be given to the Islamic Revolution in the official media of Iran's seminaries," said Ayatollah Arafi.
"Another major consideration in news activities is to observe moralities and Islamic jurisprudential law including the principle of honesty and truthfulness while covering news events. The main responsibility of a medium is to report events with honesty and observe the benefit of the whole society." head of Iranian seminaries concluded.
