Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, head of Iranian Seminaries, received a delegation of Indian scholars headed by Professor Akhtarul Wasey, dean of India’s Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University, in Qom on Sunday, July 9.
During the meeting, Ayatollah Arafi highlighted deep cultural, historic and civilizational ties between Iran and India saying, “These historic ties created deep and influential relations between the two nations.”
Asserting that city of Qom serves as a hub for teaching and learning religious sciences in modern era, head of Iranian seminaries pointed out a couple of principles and major policies adopted by the seminary of Qom; “The seminary of Qom promotes moderate Islam in which there’s no sign of radicalism or extremist behavior. “
Member of Qom’s Society of Seminary Teachers went on, “The dialogue of Iranian Islamic Revolution believes that Islam is capable of addressing all worldly issues; such an interpretation of Islam has nothing to do with takfirism, terrorism or violence.”
“According to the dialogue of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Islam opposes any form of oppression or injustice all over the world.”
Reiterating that the second principle of Islamic Revolution’s dialogue is to revive the united identity of Islamic community, Ayatollah Arafi concluded, “According to Islamic Revolution, every Muslims regardless of their nationality, race, culture or sect are regarded as equal and must join together in order to form one united Islamic ummah. “
