First International Congress on Jurisprudence of Management Receives 109 Papers from 15 Countries

The First International Congress on Jurisprudence of Management and Policy-Making, held within the framework of Qur’anic teachings, convened on Wednesday at the Mohammadieh Institute in the Iranian city of Qom.

Hawzah News Agency- Organizers described the event as the first specialized international gathering dedicated exclusively to the jurisprudential foundations of management, marking a significant milestone after five years of focused academic activity by the Mohammadieh Higher Education Complex.

Hojatoleslam Mohammad Esmail Abdollahi, Secretary of the Congress, announced that the event received 109 academic papers from 15 countries, reflecting growing international interest in developing governance and management models rooted in Islamic jurisprudence.

“Out of the total submissions, 37 papers were accepted following a scientific review process,” Abdollahi said. He added that a number of selected papers were presented in specialized panels during the congress, with commission reports scheduled to be delivered in the plenary session.

Bridging Islamic jurisprudence and contemporary governance

The congress focused on exploring how principles derived from the Qur’an and Islamic legal theory can inform modern systems of governance, public administration, and policy-making. Scholars examined issues such as ethical leadership, institutional accountability, public interest, and decision-making frameworks grounded in jurisprudence methodology.

Participants emphasized that the discipline of “Jurisprudence of Management” seeks to move beyond theoretical jurisprudence by offering operational models applicable to contemporary statecraft and organizational leadership. According to organizers, the initiative aims to contribute to the development of governance paradigms aligned with Islamic values while responding to modern administrative challenges.

Publication of new scholarly works

Abdollahi also announced the forthcoming publication of two volumes dedicated to the field of Fiqh of Management. The books, he said, will soon be officially unveiled, adding that the full collection of congress papers will be published in two volumes and made available through the congress’s official platform.

The event reflects broader efforts within Iran’s religious and academic institutions to systematize Islamic governance theory and integrate jurisprudential scholarship into public policy debates.

Qom, home to major seminaries and research institutions, has in recent years hosted a series of international conferences aimed at expanding scholarly discourse on Islamic political thought and applied jurisprudence.

Organizers expressed hope that the congress will pave the way for sustained international collaboration in advancing research on Islamic models of management and policy-making, positioning the field as an emerging area of academic specialization in the Muslim world.
