Counsels of the Holy Prophet to Imam Ali: Three that Guard Your Actions

Hawzah News Agency- Imam Sadiq (a.s) said:

كَانَ فِيمَا أَوْصَى بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ) عَلِيّاً (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ):

... يَا عَلِيُّ، ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ فِيهِ لَمْ يَقُمْ لَهُ عَمَلٌ: وَرَعٌ يَحْجُزُهُ عَنْ مَعَاصِي اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَخُلُقٌ يُدَارِي بِهِ النَّاسَ، وَحِلْمٌ يَرُدُّ بِهِ جَهْلَ الْجَاهِلِ ...

Among the counsels of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh and his family) to Ali (a.s):

...“O Ali, there are three qualities; whoever does not possess them, no deed of theirs will stand:

1. Piety that restrains them from the disobedience of Allah—the Almighty and Majestic—

2. Good character by which they deal gently with people, and

3. Forbearance by which they repel the ignorance of the ignorant.”...
