Hawzah News Agency- Shaykh al‑Saduq narrated that his father (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim, from his father, from al‑Nawfali, from al‑Sakooni, from Imam Sadiq (pbuh), from his father, from his forefathers, from Imam Ali (pbuh) that The Messenger of Allah (pbuh and his family) said:
يَلْزَمُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ مِنَ الْعُقُوقِ لِوَلَدِهِمَا إِذَا كَانَ الْوَلَدُ صَالِحاً مَا يَلْزَمُ الْوَلَدَ لَهُمَا.
The same [consequences of] 'disobedience' [and undutifulness] apply to the child regarding the parents would apply to parents regarding their child—if the child is righteous—."
