Two Source of Modesty: Weakness or Faith

Hadith of the Day is a daily feature highlighting timeless sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Ahlul-Bayt (pbut), offering insights into faith, ethics, and spirituality for contemporary life.

Hawzah News Agency- Muhammad ibn Ali Majilawayh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from his uncle Muhammad ibn Abi al‑Qasim, from Harun ibn Muslim, from Masadah ibn Ziyad, from Jaʿfar ibn Muhammad, from his father, from his forefathers, from Imam Ali (pbuh) that The Messenger of Allah (pbuh and his family) said:

الْحَيَاءُ عَلَى وَجْهَيْنِ فَمِنْهُ ضَعْفٌ وَ مِنْهُ قُوَّةٌ وَ إِسْلَامٌ وَ إِيمَانٌ.

Modesty is of two kinds: one of it is weakness, and one of it is strength—and [it is] Islam and faith.
