Iran Seminary Uses Artificial Intelligence to Boost Global Religious Outreach

A specialized workshop titled “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in International Religious Outreach” was held at the Islamic Seminary of Khuzestan as part of ongoing efforts to equip clerics with advanced technological tools for global engagement.

Hawzah News Agency- According to local reports from Ahvaz, the training program was organized by the International Affairs Department of the seminary in cooperation with the Advanced International Educational and Research Complex. The event brought together seminary students and religious scholars interested in enhancing their outreach capabilities through emerging technologies.

The one-day educational and skills-based workshop featured an instructor invited from Qom, a major center of Islamic scholarship. The session focused on exploring the growing role of artificial intelligence in international religious communication, particularly in content production, audience analysis, multilingual engagement, and improving the effectiveness of missionary and educational initiatives abroad.

Organizers had issued a public call for registration ahead of the event, which was met with strong interest from seminary students. Participants were introduced to practical AI-driven tools that can assist in strategic messaging, digital media management, data-informed audience targeting, and cross-cultural communication in an increasingly interconnected world.

Officials said the workshop forms part of a broader initiative aimed at strengthening the global presence of Iranian religious institutions by integrating modern technologies into traditional modes of outreach. The program aligns with ongoing efforts to empower preachers and scholars operating in diverse cultural environments and to enhance their capacity to address contemporary challenges in the international arena.

At the conclusion of the workshop, numerous attendees called for follow-up sessions and advanced-level training tailored specifically to participants.

The initiative reflects a growing recognition within Iran’s religious academic institutions of the strategic importance of digital literacy and artificial intelligence in shaping global narratives and expanding the reach of faith-based communication.
