Islamabad administration bans peaceful Shia scholars

In another step to wrongly equate peaceful law-abiding non-controversial Shia religious scholars with pro-terrorism hate-mongering takfiris, Islamabad administration has barred renowned Shia scholars such as Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari and Allama Amin Shaheedi from delivering sermons at any public place in Islamabad.

Hawzah News Agency-The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) has banned the entry of 16 clerics including peaceful law-abiding Shia scholars in the city limits for a period of two months. The step has been taken on the advice of the Special Branch of police that has wrongfully included Shia scholars to please the takfiris on the pretext to maintain peace and order in the city during Muharram.

Speeches of Allama Amin Shaheedi, Allama Nasir Abbas Jafri, Sheikh Mohsin Ali Najafi, Agha Shifa Najafi, Dr Zafar Iqbal Jalali, Maulana Liaquat Ali Rizvi, and Maulana Imtiaz Hussain Kazmi were also banned.

It is unjust to equate the proscribed outfit’s clerics with those who were never affiliated with any banned/proscribed outfit.

Meanwhile, an order issued by Islamabad District Magistrate Mushtaq Ahmad said that these clerics are “sectarian agitators, firebrand speakers, and are likely to indulge in sectarian activities, deliver provocative sectarian speeches/sermons aiming to create animosity and hatred between various religious sects.” So far as this charge is concerned, it only applies on the takfiri Deobandis of proscribed ASWJ and their allied clerics and not on others.
