Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the conference “Reconstructing the Common Cultural Heritage of Iran and Turkey” held at the Al-Mustafa International University, Professor Kirlangic expressed appreciation to the organizers and participants, underscoring the long-standing ties between the two countries.
“Iran and Turkey have shared deep, friendly, and historic relations spanning philosophical, religious, cultural, and social dimensions,” he said, adding that “in the field of thought and rationality, the two countries are not far apart.”
The ambassador highlighted the intellectual significance of Mulla Sadra’s era, describing it as a historical turning point. “Just as we are today standing at a turning point in history, Mulla Sadra too was indebted to the great masters of his time, from whom he drew inspiration,” he stated.
Referring to the intellectual continuity within civilizations, he added: “The world of thought is built upon mutual influence. After the stagnation of Greek and Syriac philosophy, Mulla Sadra’s innovations brought about a vital transformation that significantly contributed to the progress of Islamic philosophy.”
Professor Kirlangic also paid tribute to prominent scholars such as Sheikh Baha’i, Mir Damad, and Mir Fendereski, who played a role in Mulla Sadra’s intellectual development. He noted that “translating Mulla Sadra’s profound philosophical works into a new language is a demanding and admirable effort, as it paves the way for renewed dialogue and understanding.”
Following the ambassador’s remarks, a ceremony was held to unveil the Istanbul Turkish translation of Mulla Sadra’s monumental work Asfar Arba‘ah (The Four Journeys), with the participation of Dr. Gholamali Haddad Adel and other scholars.
