Hawzah News Agency- Senior Cleric Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi has considered the resistance of Hezbollah in Lebanon as the source of victory over Israel in a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi, and stated,” What caused the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon was Hezbollah's resistance, and God willing, with the resistance of the Palestinian fighting groups, we will witness the defeat of Israel and a ceasefire in Gaza.”

Elsewhere in his remarks the senior cleric added,” Of course, we cannot trust Israel, and while we are pleased about the ceasefire, we must also take the necessary precautions regarding Israel atrocities.”

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi further emphasized the need to compensate for the extensive losses and damages caused by the Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, and noted,” By establishing a ceasefire, appropriate action should be taken to comfort the hearts of the grieving families, as well as to rebuild and compensate for the damage.”

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi continued by referring to the start of negotiations with European countries, and reminded that in negotiations, especially international negotiations, the side that emerges strong and firm wins, and the stronger the stances we take, the greater the hope for victory.

At the beginning of this meeting, Foreign Minister Dr. Araghchi presented a report on the situation in Lebanon and Gaza and ongoing negotiations with three European countries to plan the start of nuclear negotiations.
