Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Abbas Shabar, a member of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society in Bahrain, said,” Martyrdom of foreign minister Amir-Abdullahian is a great loss for Iran and the region.”

Hawzah News Agency- recently the king of Bahrain has made reforms to improve the domestic political situation of Bahrain and on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, he pardoned 545 prisoners who are mostly foreigners, and this action did not include the condition of political prisoners.

On the other hand, regional developments including Iran's political developments and the martyrdom of Iran's president and foreign minister have had an impact on the relations between Iran and other countries in the region, including Bahrain.

In this regard, the international correspondent of Hawzah News Agency has interviewed Hujjat al-Islam "Seyed Abbas Shabar", a legal activist and a member of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society in Bahrain.

The text of the interview is as follows:

Hawzah: Please elaborate on the recent amnesty of several prisoners by the King of Bahrain and how such an action can affect the political situation in Bahrain.

Thank you for this important question. The recent amnesty of the kingdom in Bahrain, as stated in official reports, did not include the condition of political prisoners in Jo prison. This decision caused strong displeasure among human rights organizations and political activists, and this clearly shows that the king prefers foreigners over political prisoners and negatively affects the trust in justice and equality in Bahrain.

Hawzah: What is your opinion about the high percentage of foreigners who benefited from this amnesty? And what foreseeable effect does this action have on financial and social conditions?

Official reports confirmed that the royal pardon targeted 80 percent of foreigners, indicating that this was the original purpose of the measure. Some observers of the internal affairs said that behind this decision was the expulsion of these foreigners from the country with the aim of ending the damages and financial demands of their countries. This trend reflects the inattention of the Bahraini authorities to the important issues of the political situation at home, which may simultaneously negatively affect domestic and international stability on more than one level.

Hawzah: Do you think this decision will increase the political tensions in Bahrain according to the current situation?

Yes, this decision may increase the political and social tensions in Bahrain in the sense that it can lead to the escalation of tension between the opposition and the government. Building trust and bridging the political gaps among all parties is essential to overcome these complex challenges.

Hawzah: Regarding the martyrdom of Iran’s late Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, what effect do you think his martyrdom has on the political dynamics of the region, especially as Iran's presidential elections approach?

The martyrdom of Hossein Amirabdollahian is a great loss for the diplomacy of Iran and the region. Considering the upcoming presidential elections in Iran, this change can have a significant impact on the country's foreign policy and its relations with neighboring countries, including Bahrain.

Hawzah: Do you predict that the martyrdom of Hossein Amirabdollahian will affect the diplomatic relations between Iran and Bahrain, especially concerning the upcoming presidential elections in Iran?

Yes, his martyrdom creates a big void in the diplomacy scene and may increase the political challenges between the two countries, especially at this important moment in Iran's history. Certainly, the international and regional conditions have a great impact on Iran's internal politics, and the martyrdom of Amir Abdollahian may have a significant impact on the presidential elections and the upcoming political trends as well.
