Lebanese Muslim Scholars’ Association: Ain al-Hilweh Massacre Will Not Go Unpunished

The Lebanese Muslim Scholars’ Association has strongly condemned the Israeli massacre in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp, stressing that the crime will not go unanswered and demands an immediate response from the Palestinian resistance and the Lebanese government.

Hawzah News Agency- In a statement, the association said the Zionist regime did not need “another new massacre” to prove its ongoing policy of targeting and attempting to destroy the Palestinian people. It noted that the latest attack showed no distinction between alleged military targets and civilian institutions, striking a socio-sports center that serves displaced Palestinian children and youth.

According to the statement, the Israeli strike targeted a sports field where dozens of young people had gathered, killing and injuring many of them. The attack also damaged the nearby Khaled bin Walid Mosque, where worshippers were present at the time.

The association rejected Israel’s claim that the strike targeted a meeting of Palestinian faction leaders or what it described as a “Hamas training complex,” emphasizing that most of the martyrs were children under 18 — clear proof, it said, of the falsity of the regime’s narrative.

The scholars added that Israel, lacking new military targets, has turned to striking religious and civilian sites, as seen in previous attacks on the municipalities of Blida and Al-Tayri. Such actions, they said, are attempts to intimidate residents and obstruct reconstruction efforts that undermine the regime’s expansionist ambitions.

Calling for a firm response, the association stressed that the massacre “requires an appropriate reaction” from the Palestinian resistance and urged the Lebanese government to file a complaint with the UN Security Council and request an urgent meeting of the relevant monitoring committee.

Reaffirming that Palestine remains the central cause of the Muslim Ummah, the association praised the recent meeting at the Dar al-Ifta Center in Sidon and supported its call to uphold the Palestinian cause until the liberation of all of Palestine “from the sea to the river” and the dismantling of the Zionist regime.
