Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani Urges Promotion of Authentic Islamic Lifestyle Models

Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani has emphasized the responsibility of scholars and intellectuals to promote authentic Islamic lifestyle models, warning against the destructive cultural influence of cyberspace on the younger generation.

Hawzah News Agency- In a message to the First National Congress of Good Life of the Islamic World Scholars, held at the Muhammadiyah Mujtahid Training Center in the holy city of Qom, the senior cleric said that “one of the main duties of the elite society today is to introduce models for a sound and correct lifestyle.”

Referring to the misuse of cyberspace by hostile forces, Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani noted that “the enemy seeks to distort the moral values of the youth and weaken their ethical foundations.” He stressed that introducing virtuous role models, as illustrated in the Holy Qur’an through the lives of divine prophets, is essential to counter such threats.

“The lives of those who acted upon the Qur’an and embodied its teachings must be presented as examples,” he said, adding that “the great scholars who have excelled in various aspects of life deserve particular attention, as the Prophet (PBUH) said: ‘Scholars are the heirs of the prophets.’

The Grand Ayatollah called on the organizers to ensure that their efforts go beyond holding a single conference. “Such a blessed initiative should continue through sustained research and engagement,” he stated. He urged the formation of a “specialized and experienced team” to thoroughly study the lives of eminent scholars and to invite contributions from others through academic calls for papers.

Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani also cautioned against the growing trend of “ceremonial conferences” that yield little long-term impact. “We must avoid costly and symbolic gatherings that end without tangible results. Instead, our focus should be on meaningful, continuous, and low-cost programs that guide the new generation of seminarians toward the right path,” he said.

The senior scholar emphasized the importance of accurate and well-documented biographies of Islamic scholars. “Today, we are witnessing distorted narratives about the views and lives of certain scholars, even those whose students are still alive. Such misrepresentations must be corrected through diligent research,” he warned.

Concluding his message, Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event, calling their efforts “blessed and praiseworthy,” and prayed for their continued success in promoting the values of authentic Islamic life.
