Iran Is World's Top Power by Divine Standards: Senior Cleric

A member of Iran's Supreme Council of Seminaries has stressed the need for media to explain the components of the Islamic Republic's authority and greatness, saying reliance on divine power is the secret behind the progress and resilience of a nation that, by divine calculation, ranks as the world's top power.

Speaking to a Hawzah News Agency correspondent, Ayatollah Mahmoud Abdollahi addressed the need for a deep and precise analysis of the message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the occasion of Sacred Defense Week, in which he emphasized that "by divine calculation, Islamic Iran is the world's top power."

He said that, above all, media responsibility requires news agencies and journalists to make serious efforts to inform audiences about the content of this message — meaning that even the positions and remarks of foreign figures who have described Iran's system as dynamic and efficient should be clearly reflected and these facts conveyed.

Need to Explain the Islamic Republic's Authority and Greatness

The member of the Supreme Council of Seminaries added that since general audiences may not be aware of these details, the necessary information must be provided so that the matter does not remain a mere claim. He said it must be explained to domestic audiences what power and greatness the Islamic Republic of Iran has achieved in the world, particularly after the two recent imposed wars in confrontation with the United States and the Zionist regime.

He said it must be made clear to the people and the younger generation who said what, and when, about the authority and greatness of the Islamic Republic, so that the issue is not seen as a mere assertion.

A Look at Historical Experience and Religious Teachings

The member of the Assembly of Experts also said that the essence of the Leader's message — that "by divine calculation, we are the world's top power" — can be proven both from the perspective of the historical experience of the Islamic Revolution and in light of the divine teachings rooted in our beliefs.

The member of the Qom Seminary Teachers' Society added that the Martyr Leader also always relied on the noble verse in his statements and speeches, making it the foundation of his words: "Do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are true believers" (3:139).

He noted that God Almighty addresses believers in the luminous verses of the Holy Quran, telling them not to fall into depression and sorrow, and not to submit, because they are at a higher rank — and "God is with you."

Types of Divine Companionship

Ayatollah Abdollahi also said that the root of this superiority that God grants believers lies in divine companionship — that they occupy an elevated spiritual position and enjoy dignity.

The member of the Supreme Council of Seminaries stressed that there are two types of divine companionship:

  1. General companionship: God is with all human beings and all creatures. All people benefit from God's general mercy, and everyone's life, existence, and breathing depend on divine grace and power, because "there is no power or strength except through God," and all creatures fall under this companionship by virtue of receiving their existence from God.
  2. Special companionship: God Almighty also has a special companionship and grace reserved for those who are people of faith, resistance, and sacrifice on the path of their lofty goals. This special companionship supports the mujahideen and the resistance, and God aids and accompanies them — just as He told Moses and Aaron (PBUT) when facing Pharaoh: "Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see" (20:46). He told them to go to Pharaoh, that He is with them, that they are before His eyes, that He hears their words and will aid them.

A Resistance Rooted in Divine Belief

The member of the Supreme Council of Seminaries also stressed that the people of resistance and struggle rely on a God who created the order of existence and to whom belong "the keys of the heavens and the earth" (39:63). All causes and factors in the universe are His agents and subject to His direction, because He is the Creator, the Lord, and the Generous. This outlook stems from divine teachings, and their trust is in a Lord who holds the direction of the world in His power.

Ayatollah Abdollahi said that from the perspective of the historical experience of the Revolution — and even looking at the pre-Revolution era, as well as the experience of the eight-year Sacred Defense, when the entire material world and major powers supported the enemy — we witnessed divine victory, especially in every great conquest and victory achieved by our system, such as the liberation of Khorramshahr, Operation Karbala 5, and other victories. The arrogant powers perceived the authority of Islamic Iran even at the height of its oppression, and were terrified, because they saw that Iran's progress and the Islamic Republic system were backing the resistance front against global arrogance.

The Secret Behind Iran's Progress and Resilience Against Enemies

The member of the Assembly of Experts also said that an important question arises: what is the reason behind these advances and this resilience against all enemy pressure? The answer is that the people placed their trust and reliance solely on the Lord and God of the universe.

He recalled that when the then Japanese prime minister brought a message from the US president — who claims superpower status — to our Martyr Leader, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution did not consider the message worthy of importance at all and said he did not deem this person, Trump, worthy of being addressed. This decisive and authoritative stance precisely reflects the spiritual and divine backing that exists for resilient people who rely on God.

The professor of advanced seminary courses in Qom recalled that at the anniversary of the martyrdom of the great mujahid Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, it was observed that when he spoke, enemies trembled and his words moved the free people of the world, and he was recognized as a hero of the Arab nation. Was this influence and authority due to abundant material resources? No — it was because he was a believer who relied on God Almighty, and therefore divine victory and grace accompanied him.

The Leader's Positions Are Based on Divine Teachings and Traditions

In conclusion, Ayatollah Abdollahi said it is therefore clear that the words and positions of today's Leader of the Islamic Revolution are based on divine teachings and the traditions of the Lord — traditions that have been fully manifested throughout the history of the Islamic Revolution and since the dawn of Islam in the movement of the Great Prophet (PBUH), the Prophetic mission, the Ashura uprising, and other historical junctures, and whose validity our historical experience also confirms.
