Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Habibullah Shabani, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Hamedan Province, made the remarks during Friday prayers in Hamedan, according to a report by the Hawzah News agency.
People’s Presence in ‘Janfada’ Drills Signals Social Transformation
Citing the mass participation of Iranians in the recent “Janfada” (Self-Sacrifice) drills, Shabani said the turnout reflects a profound shift in the country’s social spirit and a nation determined to stand firm.
He warned that enemies are seeking to sow internal discord and erode public trust in order to advance their objectives.
A Warning from the Constitutional Revolution
Drawing a historical parallel with Iran’s Constitutional Revolution, Shabani noted that the movement began with the aim of confronting despotism and establishing the rule of law and a parliament, with the clergy and the people playing a central role.
However, he said, certain currents later diverted the movement from its original path, steering it toward Western models and the passage of laws contrary to Islamic principles.
He cited the stance of Sheikh Fazlollah Nouri, who did not oppose the fight against despotism but insisted on a “Sharia-compliant constitutionalism” once he observed the deviation. Nouri’s position ultimately led to his martyrdom, the cleric noted.
Shabani pointed out that at the time, the martyrdom of Sheikh Fazlollah Nouri did not spark a widespread public reaction — historical accounts cite an atmosphere of fear and the presence of armed thugs that prevented mass protests. Today, by contrast, Iranians boldly stand up even to major powers, he said.
Under Missile Fire, Iranians Stood Firm
The cleric praised the people’s participation in the “Janfada” programs and recent ceremonies, describing it as a manifestation of the Iranian nation’s transformed social spirit.
“The presence of the people in Imam Square in Hamedan, even under conditions of threats and missile attacks, showed that the Iranian nation, despite pressures and threats, will not retreat from its ideals and values,” he declared.
He noted that in many cases, people enter the field spontaneously — without waiting for official invitations — providing resources and covering costs themselves. This social capacity, he said, can strengthen public solidarity and even motivate officials to serve more diligently.
Social Capital: A Legacy of the Islamic Revolution
Shabani emphasized that Iran’s current social capital was forged within the Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Imam Khomeini and the martyred Leader, saying this popular capacity can help realize the revolution’s unfinished ideals, including justice.
While acknowledging ongoing problems in the field of justice and elsewhere, he said reliance on the people’s strength and cooperation can pave the way for resolving them.
Enemies Betting on Internal Division
Turning to regional developments and the internal situations in the United States and the Israeli regime, Shabani said escalating tensions and continued conflict can serve the political interests of some leaders in those countries. Vigilance is therefore essential, he warned.
He identified cognitive warfare and efforts to create division within society as key enemy strategies, stressing that the success of enemy plots depends on internal discord.
“In the coming months, preserving unity, mutual trust among the people, and strengthening social cohesion is of particular importance, and we must not allow divisiveness to weaken the country’s social capital,” he said.
