Pakistani Scholar Calls for Unity to Confront Challenges Facing the Islamic World

Secretary General of Pakistan’s Shia Ulema Council, Hojatoleslam Shobeir Hassan Maysami, has underscored the vital need for unity and intellectual convergence among Muslim nations to address the political, cultural, and media challenges facing the Islamic world today.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the World Islamic Forum in Islamabad, held under the theme “Alignment of Positions and Integration of Views of the Islamic Ummah,” Hojatoleslam Maysami said the lack of coordination in thought and policy has prevented the Islamic Ummah from adopting a unified stance on key global issues.

He emphasized that the foundation of true unity lies in following the teachings and exemplary life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which, he said, can bring honor, dignity, and salvation to the Muslim world.

Highlighting the media’s influential role, Maysami cautioned against the spread of misinformation and divisive content, urging Muslim media outlets to promote truth, justice, and Islamic values to strengthen solidarity and awareness within the Ummah.

Quoting the Qur’anic verse “And hold fast to the rope of Allah, all together, and do not be divided” (Surah Al-Imran, verse 103), he stressed that the Prophet’s (PBUH) life serves as the ultimate model for unity—particularly in addressing central issues such as the cause of Palestine.

Hojatoleslam Maysami concluded that the strength and success of the Islamic Ummah depend on setting aside differences and moving forward with empathy and cooperation as one nation. The presence of scholars from various Islamic schools of thought at the forum, he added, reflects Pakistan’s determination to reinforce solidarity and collective resolve in the face of global challenges.
