Iran Penetrated Gaps in Israel’s Renowned Air-Defense Network During 12-Day War

According to Wall Street Journal analysis, data shows that during the 12-day conflict, Iran systematically discovered and exploited vulnerabilities in Israel’s sophisticated air-defense systems—doubling the proportion of missiles that breached its defenses.

Hawzah News Agency- A recent Wall Street Journal report reveals that during the 12-day conflict in June, Iran managed to significantly improve its missile penetration rate against Israel’s air-defense systems .

This dramatic increase stems from Tehran’s methodical tactics: launching more advanced, longer-range missiles from a wider array of locations deep inside Iran, varying the timing—shifting from large overnight volleys to smaller daylight waves—and dispersing targets geographically. Experts describe this approach as a “trial and error” procedure to identify and exploit weaknesses in Israel’s multi-layered defense grid.

''Any missile system, even a sophisticated one like Israel’s, will leak eventually,” says Raphael Cohen from RAND.
