Hawzah News Agency- Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Walid narrated that Muhammad ibn al-Hassan al-Saffar narrated from Muhammad ibn Abdul Jab’bar, from Al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Faz’zal, from Zarif ibn Nasih, from Ibrahim ibn Yahya, from Imam Sadiq (pbuh), from his father (pbuh) that the Holy Prophet (pbuh) said:
قَسَمَ اَللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى أَهْلَ اَلْأَرْضِ قِسْمَيْنِ فَجَعَلَنِي فِي خَيْرِهِمَا ثُمَّ قَسَمَ اَلنِّصْفَ اَلْآخَرَ عَلَى ثَلاَثَةٍ فَكُنْتُ خَيْرَ اَلثَّلاَثَةِ ثُمَّ اِخْتَارَ اَلْعَرَبَ مِنَ اَلنَّاسِ ثُمَّ اِخْتَارَ قُرَيْشاً مِنَ اَلْعَرَبِ ثُمَّ اِخْتَارَ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ثُمَّ اِخْتَارَ بَنِي عَبْدِ اَلْمُطَّلِبِ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ثُمَّ اِخْتَارَنِي مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ اَلْمُطَّلِبِ.
The Blessed the Sublime Allah has divided the people on the Earth into two groups and placed me in the better one. Then he divided that group into three parts and I was in the best part. Then he chose the Quraysh from amongst the Arabs, chose the children of Abdul Mutalib from amongst the Hashemites , and chose me from amongst the children of Abdul Mutalib.
