Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Mustafa Alavi, in his Friday prayer sermons, stated,” The 17th of January has been named Gaza Day in Iran, which is a reminder of the bravery and sacrifices of the Palestinian youth who started the jihad against the usurper Zionist regime with empty hands, with stones and sticks, and now with the support of the Islamic Republic and the leadership of our beloved martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani, they fight against the enemy fully-armed, and these days we are witnessing the devastation of the Zionist regime, which surrendered to these brave men and tasted defeat by accepting a ceasefire agreement with Hamas.”
Hujjat al-Islam Alavi further noted that in this context, I would like to present a statement from the Second Step of the Islamic Revolution. In this statement, Imam Khamenei reiterated: This revolution has stood up to the oppressors with courage and has defended the oppressed and the downtrodden.
He highlighted the significance of Jihad of Explanation and added,” Another point I deem necessary to mention regarding the Jihad of Explanation is that we must all fulfill our duty in defending religion and recognizing the enemy.”
Qatar on Wednesday announced that along with Egypt and the US as mediators, the ceasefire deal between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, and Israel had been approved. The initial phase starting Sunday and lasting 42 days, includes the release of 33 Israeli detainees in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
The Israeli security cabinet has approved the deal, the prime minister’s office said on Friday, paving the way for the government’s final approval.
Israel has killed more than 46,000 people in Gaza since the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attacks, displaced most of the population and left much of the enclave in ruins. Despite the truce, Israeli attacks on Gaza have continued, according to local authorities.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
