Senior Iranian Cleric: Ayatollah Sistani's Authority Instrumental in Crushing Daesh, Containing US Expansionism

The representative of Iran's Leader of the Islamic Revolution in East Azerbaijan province has hailed the undeniable role of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani's religious authority in destroying Daesh and countering American excesses across the region.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking during a meeting with a special representative of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein's custodianship and his accompanying delegation in Tabriz, Hojatoleslam Ahmad Motahhari-Asl praised Ayatollah Sistani's role in preserving unity and stability in Iraq.

"If today we are able to confront global arrogance in the region, a fundamental pillar of this resistance is the Iraqis who wage jihad in obedience to their grand religious authority," Motahhari-Asl stated. He stressed that Ayatollah Sistani's role in annihilating ISIS and confronting American expansionist policies is undeniable.

The Friday prayer leader of Tabriz addressed the visiting Iraqi delegation, telling them to take pride in serving at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH), describing it as the greatest divine blessing.

Motahhari-Asl further emphasized that the Infallible Imams (PBUT) serve as lamps of guidance and arks of salvation, noting that clinging to Imam Hussein (PBUH) in particular invites greater divine forgiveness.

For his part, Sayyed Zia al-Husseini, a servant of the Imam Hussein holy shrine, said the Islamic Republic of Iran proved in the recent war that it is both powerful and acts according to Islamic principles. He noted that Iran raised not only its own flag but the banner of Shia Islam itself, drawing freedom-seekers and Muslims worldwide toward the Islamic Republic.

The Iraqi delegation member added that the people of Iran and Iraq stand united under the shade of faith and love for Imam Ali and Imam Hussein (PBUH) , a bond that strengthens the entire Muslim and Shia front.
