Hawzah News Agency- Speaking to reporters on Friday while participating in the annual Quds Day rallies in Tehran, Ali Larijani dismissed the effectiveness of Washington's "maximum pressure" campaign, emphasizing that such tactics are counterproductive.
"Trump's mind cannot comprehend; he does not know that the Iranian nation is a mature, strong, and determined nation," Larijani stated. "The more pressure he applies, the stronger the will of the Iranian people will become."
The SNSC chief's remarks come amid renewed threats and hostile rhetoric from US officials toward the Islamic Republic. His comments underscore the entrenched position of Iranian officials that coercive diplomacy and economic warfare will not force Tehran to capitulate to foreign demands.
'Strikes on Quds Day marchers a sign of desperation'
In a separate exchange, Larijani was questioned about the reported Israeli regime's aggression against participants in the Quds Day processions. He characterized the attacks as a manifestation of weakness and psychological distress within the occupying entity.
"The Zionist regime's attacks stem from fear and desperation," Larijani explained. "The fact that they are attacking people's marches shows that they have been driven into a corner and are at their wit's end."
Quds Day, an annual event initiated by the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini, is observed on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. It serves as a global platform for expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposing the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem and Palestinian territories.
This year's rallies have taken on heightened significance against the backdrop of the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza, with millions expected to take to the streets across Iran and other Muslim nations to condemn the atrocities and reaffirm their support for the Palestinian cause.
Larijani's participation in the march alongside millions of Iranians sends a powerful message of national unity in the face of external threats, reinforcing Tehran's position that the Palestinian issue remains the foremost cause of the Muslim world.
