Hawzah News Agency- Referring to the historical record of women's presence in Islamic civilization, Niloufar Sadat, a cultural and religious activist, said: "In the history of Islam, women have played a decisive role in the formation of civilization; the first supporter of Islam was a woman and the first martyr of Islam was also a woman. Women have been pioneers in education, narration of hadith, assistance to the Prophet (PBUH), defense of the guardianship, and even soft and hard jihad." She added that Islamic civilization would not have been formed without the presence of these great women, and whenever the role of women is diminished, society suffers from a civilizational weakness.
She added: “A society in which women do not play a role suffers from stagnation, petrification and civilizational passivity, and the exclusion of women from social, intellectual, cultural and scientific processes means depriving society of half of its divine potential''.
Fereshteh Heydari, another cultural activist, said: “The presence of women was vital in the early days of Islam; From the strategic support of Hazrat Khadija (PBUH) and the intellectual model of Hazrat Fatima (PBUH) to the active participation of women in science, trade and jihad. This history shows that, contrary to misconceptions, Islam considers education and social participation as equal rights for women and men, and many female scientists have been raised in the lap of Islamic civilization''.
Ms. Ramezani considered the absence or passivity of women in society to be the cause of impotence, imbalance, and the gradual collapse of civilization, and emphasized that sustainable development, culture-building, and social cohesion are not possible without the active presence of women.
In his final address to decision-makers, he said: "To accelerate the process of civilization, we must redefine and highlight the role of women not based on Western models, but on authentic Islamic principles, through intellectual and legal investment in them''.
