Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the 20th session of the New Islamic Civilization series at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Seminary in Khoy, Hojatoleslam Habib Moghadam described Trump’s 20-point proposal as a “desperate move to save the Zionist regime from collapse.”
“Despite killing tens of thousands of Palestinians, Israel has failed to destroy Hamas, occupy Gaza, or normalize ties with certain reactionary Arab states,” he said. “Instead, it has lost its security, global standing, and even the trust of its own citizens.”
Quoting former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter, Moghadam said that Trump’s proposal reflects Washington’s recognition of Israel’s battlefield defeat. “Each day, resistance fighters destroy tanks and eliminate Zionist soldiers — a reality the West cannot ignore,” he added.
The cleric pointed to growing anti-Zionist movements across the U.S. and Europe as signs of a global awakening. “When the slogan ‘Long Live Palestine’ is heard in the heart of the West, it signals the decline of arrogance and the rise of the Islamic awakening,” he said.
Hojatoleslam Moghadam emphasized that the Al-Aqsa Storm operation had turned global attention back to Palestine and “set the Zionist regime back seventy years.” He noted that even with tens of billions of dollars in American aid, the Zionist regime has failed to achieve victory, while Hamas remains strong, organized, and politically relevant.
“The forced ceasefire marks a clear defeat for the Zionist regime and its so-called invincible army,” Moghadam stated, adding that the resistance discourse continues to reshape regional dynamics and expose the fragility of the Israeli entity.
He concluded that the aftermath of the Gaza war will bring deep internal divisions and accelerate the decline of the Zionist regime, calling it “an existential crisis for an occupier that has lost both its legitimacy and its deterrent power.”
