Hawzah News Agency- In a statement to the media, the prosecution identified the suspect only by the initials I.P. and stated that he tore up the Quran in early March this year near the “Saraçhane” tekke in the southern city of Prizren.
“Investigations revealed that I.P. tore and scattered pages of the Muslim holy book, the Quran, on the ground, causing outrage among the Islamic community and threatening coexistence between groups with different religious ideologies'', the statement said.
He is formally charged with inciting division and intolerance under Article 141, paragraph 1 of Kosovo’s Criminal Code.
