Hawzah News Agency - In a press statement on Thursday, the MSF’s communications officer, Nour al-Saqa, said that Palestinians in Gaza are neither psychologically nor physically prepared to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
Al-Saqa pointed out that Eid al-Fitr this year comes while Gazans are forced to flee while carrying the bodies and remains of their children, and burying their loved ones, instead of preparing for Eid and buying related necessities, stressing that no one is thinking about Eid.
She explained that the general situation in the Gaza Strip is disastrous by all standards, whether in terms of food, security or safety.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced after the Israeli occupation army forced them to leave their homes under bombardment, killing and destruction, she underscored, explaining that they are forced to flee their homes during fasting and spend days without proper food.
Palestinians are exhausted psychologically, physically and financially, she added, emphasizing that the situation makes it very difficult for them to lead a healthy life.
Al-Saqa noted that Palestinians struggle to survive during Ramadan in various aspects related to security, nutrition, well-being, and other issues.
Since the Israeli occupation resumed the genocidal war in Gaza on March 18, 855 Palestinians have been martyred and 1,869 others injured, most of them children and women, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health on Thursday.
