Hawzah News Agency- mourning ceremonies have been held in large numbers in Pakistan, from small towns to large cities. In Karachi, the central procession of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (PBUH) set off from Nishtar Park. Along the way, the mourners, with great sadness and sorrow, sang laments in memory of the hardships of Imam Ali and performed the noon prayer on Jinnah Street. After passing through the traditional routes, the procession ended its mourning at the Iranian Husayniyya.
Strict security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the mourners. The streets and alleys leading to the procession route are blocked and police and Rangers are deployed along the entire route to ensure complete peace.
In Punjab, mourning processions have started in different cities and are moving towards their designated destinations. Mobile phone services have been suspended along the route of these processions to maintain security and more than 1,870 police personnel are responsible for the security of the ceremony.
In Lahore, the central procession of the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (PBUH) passed through traditional routes and security forces were fully present on the route. In Bahawalpur, the main procession started from Daman Shah Bazaar.
In Multan, the procession ended with the Maghrib prayer at the Lal Shah Astan. In Gilgit, the main procession began from Imambargah and came to an end upon reaching the Imamia Jama Masjid.
In Quetta and Peshawar, special security measures have been taken to maintain order and security of the mourning processions.
