Hawzah News Agency- Member of the Assembly of Experts Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Khatami made the remark in an address to a gathering of Islamic seminary scholars and students and people from all walks of life, held in the holy city of Qom on Tuesday.

He said the Israeli regime is a small entity that pretends to be powerful by attaching itself to the US and Europe but Muslim countries are really powerful and can defeat the regime if they get united.

Referring to the developments in Syria, he said what happened there in recent weeks was the result of the plots hatched by the US and the Zionist regime.

The purpose of these plots is harming the Muslim world, the cleric warned.

He described Israel as a threat to the security of the Muslim world, adding that if leaders of regional states fail to recognize this threat, what happened in Syria may happen to them as well.

Hujjat al-Islam Khatami also said that for all the attempts made by the enemy, the resistance front is getting stronger.

The Islamic Iran is also powerful and gets stronger day after day, he went on to say.
