Hawzah News Agency – Imam Ali (AS), in his will to his son Imam Hasan (AS) said,
أحيِ قَلبَكَ بالمَوعِظَةِ، وأمِتْهُ بالزَّهادَةِ .
'Revive your heart with exhortations, and kill it will asceticism.'
