Hawzah News Agency - According to IQNA, in a village in the Qena Governorate, the beautifully written copy of the Quran, created by the ancestor of the family, has been preserved and carefully maintained through generations.
This Quran, known for its exquisite calligraphy, has been used by the villagers and is occasionally referenced for taking oaths and uncovering the truth.
Mahmoud Tahami, a descendant of the family that has inherited this Quran, says its history spans nearly 300 years, passed down from their ancestor Sheikh Abdul Haq, who wrote it by hand along with several other religious manuscripts that were lost in a fire.
“Our family has kept this Quran safe, and its beautiful writing is such that anyone who sees it cannot believe it is handwritten.”
He stated that this Quran holds a special place in the family and is treated like a treasured heirloom.
Over time, it has suffered some damage, but it is currently being carefully preserved, he noted.
Tehami explained that the Quran has been wrapped in cloth since a long time ago, which still exists today.
To ensure its protection, it is placed in more than one white cover, and the small pages that come loose when the Quran is opened are kept in a special volume, he stated.
He also mentioned that someone has suggested the idea of photographing and printing this Quran to ensure its preservation for a longer period.
“If this printing and photographing take place, we will inform the public about it.”
