Condemnations keep pouring in over U.S-led attacks on Yemen

Several world countries have warned about the consequences of the continuation of the U.S.-U.K. aggression against Yemen.

Hawzah News Agency- North Korea and Venezuela have joined other countries in condemning recent deadly airstrikes carried out by the U.S. and British warplanes on Yemen.

“Washington ‘indiscriminately’ targeted civilians and property in Yemen by mobilizing air and naval forces, including an aircraft carrier,” the KCNA state news agency quoted Ma Dong Hui, North Korea’s ambassador to Sana’a as saying.

“The military attack by the United States is a violent violation of the U.N. Charter and international law, and is a blatant infringement on the territorial sovereignty of another country that cannot be justified by any means,” Ma said.

While condemning the U.S-led attacks on Yemen, the North Korean envoy said that Washington was “obsessed with realizing geopolitical ambitions” through “illegal and reckless military actions.”

Meanwhile, Venezuela strongly condemned the U.S and the U.K.’s military intervention in Yemen, calling it a violation of the country’s sovereignty.

In a statement Monday night, the Venezuela government said that these attacks only bring further destruction and suffering to the Yemeni people, without offering real solutions to the region’s challenges.

It also called for an immediate end to the attacks on Yemen and urged Arab and Islamic governments to take action in defense of the rights and lives of those suffering from the aggression.

“The only path to peace in the region is a return to international legitimacy, the enforcement of U.N. Security Council resolutions on Palestine, and an end to all hostilities against the region’s peoples,” the statement said.

The large-scale strikes were launched by President Donald Trump at the weekend that resulted in the death of at least 53 people, including women and children.

Several world countries, including Iran and Cuba have denounced the U.S.-led attacks on Yemen as blatant violation of international law and warned against the consequences of the continuation of such aggression.
