Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a gathering held at a local church in Rawalpindi, Hojatoleslam Ashfaq Wahidi said that in today's world, the need for peace and security is felt more acutely than ever before.
"In some regions, war has been imposed on people by certain powers, resulting in widespread insecurity, instability and the loss of countless innocent lives. Under such circumstances, promoting a culture of peaceful coexistence, interfaith harmony, tolerance and mutual respect is an undeniable necessity," he said.
The cleric stressed the importance of strengthening patience and forbearance within society, urging people to adhere to the principle of "not transgressing against the beliefs of others while not abandoning one's own faith."
"If this culture is institutionalized in society, the ground will be prepared for the expansion of peace, brotherhood, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions and denominations," Wahidi stated.
He described freedom as a great blessing, noting that people of all faiths and segments of society have made immense sacrifices to attain it — sacrifices that must never be forgotten.
"All segments of society contributed to the creation of Pakistan, and today, everyone must work together for the progress, stability, prosperity and honor of the country," he said.
The religious scholar also underscored the importance of national unity, saying that religious and sectarian differences must not become a source of enmity and hatred.
"Rather, by respecting one another's beliefs and keeping national interests in mind, we must pave the way for strengthening unity and solidarity in the country," he added.
Wahidi concluded by offering prayers for the elevation of the ranks of security forces martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of Pakistan, paying tribute to their services.
