Hawzah News Agency- Head of Iran’s Islamic Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi had a meeting with Latin American thinkers on Tuesday, September 13 held in the office of the director of seminaries in Qom; During his speech the senior Shia scholar explained the importance and position of Qom seminary and its unique role in spreading the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) throughout the world.
Ayatollah Arafi stated, "One hundred years have passed since the re-establishment of the Qom seminary in the new era, and this year we have the 100th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Qom seminary, which became the source of many services and blessings for the Islamic world."
Friday Prayer Imam of Qom emphasized,” Although the seminaries are all connected historical institutions, but based on its past history, Qom has reached a high peak for that matter.”
The head of Iranian seminaries stated,” In Qom seminary, the intellectual views of religious scholars and Islamic sciences have been opened to preaching and parallel topics between different cultures and religions.”
Ayatollah Arafi further noted, “To explain the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and pure Islam, we must adopt a comprehensive long-term view, in the sense that some people rely only on their specific sect to explain the teachings of the religion and do not see the commonalities among Islamic sects, whereas some others only focus on commonalities and do not see the specific teachings of their own sect, but our path is neither of these two, it is separate and unique.”
He added,” In my meeting with Pope Francis, I stated that humanity has needs that all divine religions must respond to, and we must discuss it here. During the Covid-19 pandemic and Christmas days, I wrote letters to various thinkers and scientists. I proposed this idea, which was welcomed.”
Ayatollah Arafi went on to say,” On the one hand, the message of Qom Seminary is resistance against oppression and the Global Arrogance , and on the other hand, it is peace and friendship among different religions, schools of thought, and cultures. The messengers of the message of religion should pay attention to people from all walks of life on the one hand and have a comprehensive and special strategy for elites and prominent thinkers on the other hand.”
