Hawzah News Agency- In a meeting with a group of Iraqi scholars and intellectuals in Qom on Thursday, July 27, Hujjat al-Islam Hamid Shahriari the secretary-general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stated, “Throughout history, Global arrogance has divided Islamic and non-Islamic countries by creating divisions in order to dominate their resources. For example, they split India into four countries to plunder its resources.”
The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought asserted that introducing Islam as a religion which is opposed to progress is one of the adversaries’ plots and stated, “The enemies used to introduce Islam as the religion of mere prayer, fasting and zakat. But late Imam Khomeini (RA) proved that Islam can have a leadership format by establishing the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979.”
He added, “In the past, the economy, technology and science of the world were only in the hands of a few non-Islamic countries and the Islamic world did not have a share, but today, thanks to the wise leadership of Iranian Supreme Leader and the resistance of the people, the Islamic Republic of Iran has broken this monopoly and is among the most powerful countries.”
The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought went on to refer to Islam as a religion of brotherhood and unity, and stated, “The adversaries created ISIS in order to prevent the world's growing attention towards Islam. They conspired to introduce Islam as a violent religion, but thanks to the blessed martyrs including Major General Haj Qassim and Abu Mahdi, the plot of ISIS's sedition was destroyed.”
He called raising the issue of the Shia crescent as one of the enemy's tactics to create division between Shia and Sunni Muslims and said, “Iran has repeatedly proved that it does not distinguish between Shia and Sunnis in order to defend Islam. Iran supports Hezbollah in Lebanon as well as Hamas in Palestine.
At the end of his speech, Hujjat al-Islam Shahriari considered the responsibility of scholars very important in the current situation of the Islamic world and concluded, “We should not allow American way of thinking to grow in Islamic countries and replace the Islamic values.”
