Turkish army’s aggression

Al-Nujaba Movement, in a strong statement, criticized the passivity of the Iraqi government, formal organisations and military forces of the Kurdistan Region against the aggression of the Turkish army and then warned that if this behaviour isn’t changed, a part of the country will be occupied.

Hawzah News Agency - Al-Nujaba Islamic Movement, in a statement, addressing all Iraqi people, vehemently condemned the Turkish army’s aggression of the Iraqi land, reported al-Nujaba’s Centre for Communications and Media Affairs in Iran.

The statement, emphasizing that Iraq is at an important historical turn, mentions that the silence of the government and formal organisations over the Turkish army’s occupation of a large part of the country, destruction of houses and forcing residents to move is strongly condemned.”

Al-Nujaba points out, “The military forces of the Kurdistan Region (called Peshmarags), who are responsible for the defence of those areas, are only watching Turkey’s aggression and plunders; though their behaviour towards Iraqi forces (those of the federal government) is fully different”

Furthermore, the statement warns that silence against recent aggressions can lead to the permanent occupation of a part of the Iraqi land and its attachment to Turkey with its catastrophic consequences and change of state’s map.

Finally, al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance recommends Iraqi people and government to employ all diplomatic, international, popular and economic methods in defence of state’s borders and sovereignty, and that a highly significant way in this regard is the elimination of enemy’s pretexts.

It ought to be noted that Turkey’s army has occupied some parts of Iraq bordering with the Kurdistan region and announced the cause of its action is standing against terrorist and separatist Kurd groups.
