Iran’s Islamic Revolution inspired by Ashura

The above was said by the acting Friday prayer leader of Mashhad, Hoj. Mohammad Baqir Farzaneh during a religious sermon at Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in Mashhad.

Hawzah News Agency - (Mashhad - Iran) - All beliefs of the Iranian people in the course of the Islamic Revolution and in the defense of religion are tied to the conduct of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala.

The above was said by the acting Friday prayer leader of Mashhad, Hoj. Mohammad Baqir Farzaneh during a religious sermon at Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in Mashhad. “Iran has long been ready and active in defending, restoring and promoting religion and has pursued this goal through numerous ways and means.” he said.

Drawing similarities in objectives and enemies of the Ashura and Islamic Revolution, he stated that martyrdom-seeking and justice are two important wings of the Iranian nation and they cannot be simply eliminated.

“Standing up to the enemy and not compromising is one of the most important lessons of Ashura incident, which Imam

Hussein (AS) repeatedly stated. The Iranian nation influenced by Ashura has stood against the enemy for forty years and has not made a deal with them,” he added.

Farzaneh further added that a free human being as a noble creature must not remain silent in view of oppression and be indifferent in a society in which the principle of “enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil” has been deserted and oppression and corruption pervaded, because they learned their lesson from the conduct of Imam Hussein (AS).

“Defending religion is valuable and in the right path when people know the enemy well and move with insight. The enemy of the Iranian nation is certainly vulnerable,” he remarked, adding “Of course, over the course of the forty years, the Iranian nation has defeated the enemy frequently and we will soon see the annihilation of the global arrogance.”
