Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – During the meeting Mr Ján Figeľ, Special Envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion or belief outside the European Union which was held in the cleric’s house on Wednesday February 8, Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi asserted,” human dignity is highly respected in genuine Islamic teachings and the world must come to realize the fact that terrorism has nothing to do with genuine Islam at all; I’ve repeatedly emphasized that we as Muslims reach out for all those who seek peace and friendship in the world, yet we are resilient in our fight against those who seek hostility towards humanity as well as mankind.”

The Iraqi source of emulation further reiterated, “The religious authorities in the city of Najaf have always stood firm against retaliatory measures and voiced their criticism over insulting the sanctities of Muslims around the world.” Hawzah reported.

He pointed out that peace is considered as the true fruit of Islam and its genuine teachings and slammed the international community’s silence towards terror-sponsoring countries.

He said, “These countries have caused discord within the Iraqi nation as a result of their sectarian measure; therefore, silence towards their ill policies will have negative consequences for the whole world. We work hard for the unity, peace and security of Iraq and the whole nation.”
