Senior Cleric urges Jurists to explain Rulings related to Artificial Intelligence

A member of Qom Seminary Teachers' Society stated,” Power at the strategic level is mainly related to macro-level behaviors, and artificial intelligence plays a key role in this regard, so it is necessary for the government to exert its utmost efforts in this field. Jurists also have a duty to deduct the jurisprudential rulings related to this macro-level power.”

Hawzah News Agency- A member of Qom Seminary Teachers' Society Ayatollah Mohsen Araki has explained the jurisprudential dimensions and some of the religious duties surrounding the use of artificial intelligence technology at the opening ceremony of the national meeting titled "Applications and Capacity of Artificial Intelligence in the Development of Humanities Startups" held on Tuesday, April 22, at Ghadir International Conference Hall in Qom.

Pointing out the key position of artificial intelligence as a new means of power, the member of the Supreme Council of Seminaries stated, “Dealing with this new technology and the theoretical and technological issues related to it, as well as the applications and operations based on artificial intelligence, are among the duties of all people, and especially among the duties of Islamic governance, since issues related to artificial intelligence in the field of jurisprudential rulings are among the macro-duties, and any duty that is related to the macro-society is aimed at the governance.”

He further noted that power at the strategic level is mainly related to macro-behavior, and artificial intelligence also has a key role in this regard, so it is essential for the governance to exert its utmost efforts in this area. Jurists also have a duty to engage in deducing the jurisprudential rulings related to this macro-power.”
