Hawzah News Agency- the late Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani, in an article on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Sadiq (PBUH), wrote on the topic of “The Day of Sorrow for the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT); He has addressed the day of calamity and invasion of the history of Islam” and has clarified:

Everyone should consider the eighth day of Shawwal, the heartbreaking event of the destruction of Jannat al-Baqi’, as a day of sorrow for the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and a day of invasion on the history of Islam, by holding magnificent gatherings, holding mourning sessions, and offering condolences to the holy Prophet (PBUH), condemn this crime that was against Islam, the Holy Quran, and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT; One must not forget that this crime cannot be forgotten, and declare this day as Jannat al-Baqi’ Day.
