Hawzah News Agency- The gathering, titled "Examining the Character, Thought and School of Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah," was held at the secretariat of the scientific associations of the Qom Seminary. It brought together Hojatoleslam Ali Mesbah Yazdi, Hojatoleslam Mojtaba Mesbah Yazdi, and members of the secretariat of the international congress "Umna al-Rusul" (Trustees of the Prophets).
The conference aimed to illuminate the intellectual and spiritual dimensions of the late Hezbollah Secretary-General, whose martyrdom has prompted renewed focus on the resistance school he embodied.
Pursuing an Academic Framework for the Resistance School
Opening the session, Hojatoleslam Mohammad-Taqi Rabbani, director of the scientific council for the congress, outlined the process that led to the initiative. Following the decision to hold the conference, multiple meetings were held with Hezbollah officials and resistance figures. During the funeral ceremonies for Martyr Nasrallah, an official letter was delivered to Sheikh Naim Qassem, who welcomed the initiative and pledged cooperation.
Rabbani noted that the secretariat has defined between ten and twelve scientific projects examining the personality and school of the martyred leader. Topics include the concept of Islamic unity in Nasrallah's thought, his spiritual and ethical conduct, his use of media, his powers of persuasion, his leadership style, and the literature of resistance.
He cautioned that documentation on the various dimensions of Nasrallah's character remains scarce. "We need serious academic engagement to extract his behavior, character and management model for the benefit of seminaries and educational institutions," Rabbani said.
The Urgency of a Practical Model
Hojatoleslam Reza Eskandari, secretary of the Umna al-Rusul congress, stressed the urgent need to study Nasrallah's ethical, spiritual, educational and political thought.
"Today's society — particularly the younger generation and seminary students — desperately needs successful, concrete and tangible models in the arenas of management and spirituality," Eskandari said. "The comprehensive character of Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah can serve as the finest example in cadre training, monotheistic politics, crisis management and resistance command."
He reported that more than 300 academic papers have already been submitted to the congress secretariat. Organizers aim to compile these into thematic and practical volumes, producing coherent knowledge packages for researchers across the Islamic world.
Eskandari also called for collaboration with the Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute, noting its capacity to play a central role in finalizing the works and analyzing the intellectual connections between Martyr Nasrallah and the school of the late Ayatollah Mohammad-Taqi Mesbah Yazdi.
Obedience to Wilayah Beyond Mere Compliance
In the main address, Hojatoleslam Ali Mesbah Yazdi drew on the teachings of his late father, Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, describing Martyr Nasrallah as an unparalleled example of "concrete faith."
"The defining feature of Martyr Nasrallah is the distinction between believing in truths and those truths becoming manifest in one's conduct," he said.
He recounted that the late Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi repeatedly emphasized that Nasrallah was not merely aware of religious principles — those principles were visible and tangible in all his decisions, behaviors and even the smallest details of his daily life.
Turning to the question of allegiance to Wilayah — guardianship — Ali Mesbah Yazdi said Nasrallah's acceptance of authority went far beyond outward or obligatory obedience.
"In practice, he always sought to understand the intentions and wishes of the Supreme Leader. Even when no explicit instruction was given, his insight into Wilayah allowed him to recognize the correct path and pursue it with all his strength," he said. "For this reason, my father always said: I am certain that Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah is among the special companions of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance)."
A School-Based Bond Between Two Figures
Hojatoleslam Mojtaba Mesbah Yazdi offered personal recollections of his father's visits to Lebanon, revealing the deep intellectual and spiritual bond between the two figures. He described the relationship as "school-based" rather than merely personal — rooted in the training of resistance forces on the foundations of ethics, guardianship of the jurist and divine knowledge.
Recalling a 2017 visit to Lebanon, he said that despite intense security protocols, Martyr Nasrallah personally came to Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi's residence for a meeting. During that encounter, a message from the Supreme Leader was conveyed, emphasizing prayer, spiritual support and the necessity of strengthening the intellectual foundations of Hezbollah's ranks.
"This demonstrates how Wilayah creates an unbreakable bond among the Leader, scholars and fighters," Mojtaba Mesbah Yazdi said.
He also highlighted Nasrallah's scholarly dimensions, noting that contrary to the image of him solely as a military commander, the Hezbollah leader was deeply engaged in study. He continuously read the works of the Supreme Leader, Imam Khomeini, Martyr Motahhari and Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, and even taught some of these texts to his close circle.
"This continuous study was the true source of the purity, foresight and devotion that flowed through his conduct," he added.
Proposal for Joint Research Publication
In the closing segment, Dr. Abdipour, director of domestic and international sessions for the congress, thanked the sons of Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi for their contributions and proposed that the Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute produce a dedicated volume compiling the late scholar's perspectives on Nasrallah's character and thought.
He suggested the work be undertaken as a joint research project between the institute and the Umna al-Rusul congress secretariat, serving as a scientific reference on the intellectual and spiritual ties between resistance leaders and the pillars of Islamic thought.
