Hawzah News Agency- According to this report, since the beginning of the war, 233 imams, preachers and Muslim preachers and 20 Christian clerics have been martyred in the Zionist regime's attacks.
In July, the Israeli army admitted to bombing and completely destroying a mosque in the northern Gaza Strip, claiming that the mosque was being used as a weapons depot.
In this attack, the "Al-Mutaqeen" mosque near the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) building in Gaza City was also targeted, and the tents around it, where hundreds of displaced Palestinians were staying, were damaged.
Gaza authorities have described the targeting of mosques and clerics as part of a wider attack on the region's religious and social infrastructure, stressing that the destruction of places of worship and the targeting of clerics could be considered a violation of international humanitarian law and a war crime. According to previous reports by the Ministry of Endowments, about 815 mosques were completely destroyed and 151 mosques were partially destroyed in the past year.
