Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 18th edition of a two-day conference held in Abuja on Tuesday evening, the 27th of Safar, Sheikh Zakzaky said that current global events bear similarities, in some respects, to the era of the Prophet (PBUH), with the traits of the faithful, the polytheists and the hypocrites clearly visible among people today.
The leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria noted that the world is now divided into two camps: those who follow God and His Messenger (PBUH), and the Western camp, which he described as representing Satan.
Referring to this year’s commemorations of the Prophet’s demise, Sheikh Zakzaky urged Muslims to use such occasions to foster unity and raise public awareness about ongoing global developments.
He said that closeness and communication among people help break down walls of division and discord.
Sheikh Zakzaky also offered condolences on the anniversary of the Prophet’s passing on the 28th of Safar, noting that remembering the departure of the Prophet of Mercy and holding mourning ceremonies in his honor are among the ways of keeping the faith alive.
He concluded by emphasizing that the purpose of commemorating such occasions is not merely to mourn, but to draw lessons from the life and legacy of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and to apply those lessons in today’s world.
