Hawzah News Agency- Al-Hakim said that Trump's threats against Iran are often used as a tool of political pressure and strategic deterrence rather than a direct declaration of imminent war, particularly as the escalatory rhetoric is pursued with the goal of compelling Tehran to make concessions on the nuclear file and reduce its regional influence.
He added: "Washington knows full well that any confrontation with Iran will not be a classic, short war, but rather a regional and multi-front engagement stretching from the Persian Gulf to every country in the region — especially given that the American threats carry psychological and economic dimensions just as much as a military one."
The political analyst stressed that any direct military confrontation with Iran would bring enormous economic and security costs for the United States and its regional allies.
"Washington is aware that Iran, through its regional allies and missile capabilities, possesses tools for an unconventional response," al-Hakim said. "Moreover, the American military establishment knows that while the first strike may be easy, controlling the consequences will be extremely complex and costly."
