Hawzah News Agency- the competition, organized with the support of Media Mehr Bangladesh, aims to promote the timeless teachings of the Holy Quran while highlighting core values such as justice, resilience against oppression, and moral courage. The initiative coincides with the holy month of Ramadan and is being actively conducted across social media platforms, allowing broad participation.
30 Quranic Themes on Resistance
The competition focuses on 30 carefully selected Quranic themes, each derived from a verse or narration, and analyzed strategically to illustrate practical models of resistance, perseverance, unity, self-reliance, political insight, and divine support during hardship. The program underscores that the Quran is not merely a guide for personal spirituality, but a blueprint for civilization-building and resisting domination.
Participants explore stories from Islamic history that exemplify these principles, including the debates of Prophet Abraham (PBUH) with Nimrod, Imam Ali’s (PBUH) sacrifice during Laylat al-Mabit, the steadfastness of Asiya in Pharaoh’s palace, and David’s (PBUH) triumph over Goliath. Each theme serves as a living example of faith, insight, and courage shaping historical and moral developments.
Special Sections for Women and Youth
Recognizing the pivotal role of women and young people in societal and spiritual development, the competition features dedicated sections for mothers, teenage participants, and young adults. These segments highlight their contributions to preserving religious identity and defending divine principles. Other thematic pillars include opposing domination, fostering Islamic unity, crisis management, promoting informed discourse, nurturing a faithful generation, intellectual migration, scientific independence, and honoring tireless struggles of devoted participants.
Connecting Quranic Teachings with Contemporary Challenges
The initiative also emphasizes the relevance of Quranic lessons to contemporary issues faced by the Muslim world. By linking historical narratives with present-day social, political, and cultural challenges, the program encourages participants to apply spiritual insights to modern realities. Notably, the program is implemented primarily by women, further emphasizing the role of female leadership in promoting faith-based initiatives and community resilience.
Bangladesh, with a population exceeding 161 million, of which around 90% are Muslim, observes Ramadan as a major religious and cultural festival. Quranic programs during this holy month hold a special place in the hearts of Bangladeshi Muslims, making competitions like “Message of God” particularly impactful in reinforcing spiritual values and cultivating a culture of ethical resistance.
The competition stands as a testament to the growing influence of faith-driven cultural initiatives in the region, promoting both religious education and social consciousness, while fostering a generation inspired by courage, justice, and unwavering devotion.
