Hawzah News Agency- On the solemn occasion, pilgrims from various regions attended the holy shrine to commemorate the life, legacy, and martyrdom of the tenth Shiite Imam. The ceremonies reflected the deep-rooted devotion of the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), who continue to revive religious occasions as an expression of faith, loyalty, and resistance to injustice.
As part of the commemoration, mourning delegations and Hussaini processions traveled from Baghdad—home to the shrines of Imams Musa al-Kazim and Muhammad al-Jawad (peace be upon them)—to Samarra. The pilgrims described their journey as a renewal of allegiance to Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) on the anniversary of the martyrdom of his grandfather, Imam Hadi (peace be upon him).
Participants recited elegies and lamentations expressing sorrow and grief, while offering condolences to Imam Hadi and Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon them). Many mourners emphasized that such gatherings embody the true image of the followers of the Prophet Muhammad’s Household—those who adhere to their teachings, preserve their values, and remain committed to the path of wilayah.
The ceremonies concluded with a collective recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an in the courtyard of the shrine of the Imams (peace be upon them). The gathering served as a manifestation of sincere devotion, spiritual purity, and enduring love for the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet (peace be upon them).
Despite ongoing security challenges in the region, the large turnout once again underscored the central place of Imam Hadi (peace be upon him) in Shiite consciousness and the determination of believers to keep alive the memory of the Imams through peaceful and steadfast acts of mourning.
