Hawzah News Agency- The Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi referred to the developments in Syria in a meeting with Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri, head of the Qom Seminary Teachers' Society, in which he stated,” Some people, considering the developments in Syria, lost all hope and said that Syria has been lost forever and we should think about not going to the holy shrines, while this is not the case.”
He added,” We must follow the Syrian issue with hope and know that this situation will not continue, since the current rulers of Syria will not remain united with each other, and we must learn from history and maintain our morale and not take a passive stance regarding these developments, as God has said, victory is achieved by the grace of God, and for God these issues are trivial.”
The senior cleric stating that some people insist on making the academic culture dominate the seminary, said,” Some believe that this is an intellectual act, not knowing that in the time the seminary was the flag-bearer of Islamic sciences, the university did not exist.”
He continued by pointing out some of the positive aspects of the academic culture, saying,” We must be discerning and accept good and appropriate programs and prevent the penetration of inappropriate ones.
He considered the dominance of the seminary culture in the seminary atmosphere to be positive, adding,” The officials of Islamic seminaries should be the ones who are subordinate to the seminary culture and have desirable thoughts.”
