Hawzah News Agency- The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb emphasized the role of civil and charitable institutions in supporting the needy and improving the health and educational services provided to them so that they can achieve the best possible quality.
Citing the words of Almighty God, he asked for help in reducing the economic and social burden of less privileged and needy families.
Sheikh of Al-Azhar also emphasized that Almsgiving and Charity Fund - Al-Azhar's charity arm - tries very hard to adhere to the Shariah standards in the spending of Alms in the prescribed Shariah areas.
Ahmad Al Tayeb further noted that the efforts and services of the Charity Fund are not limited to the needy in Egypt, but include all the Muslims of Islamic countries who are exposed to difficult humanitarian conditions such as in Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, etc., and this is due to the interest of Al-Azhar in the unity and cohesion of the nation.
It should be noted that following the genocide of the Palestinians by Israeli regime, many Islamic countries, including Egypt, not only did not move in defense of the Palestinian people, rather provided the ground for Israel's aggression through their silence.
