Shias of Parachinar; victims of Takfiri terrorism, government apathy

Al-Mustafa International University issued a statement condemning the crimes of Takfiris in Parachinar region of Pakistan.

The text of the statement is as follows:

In the name of God

The massacre of dozens of oppressed followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in Parachinar region of Pakistan by Takfiri groups in recent days has caused sorrow and grief for every free person.

While the Islamic world is now facing dangerous conditions against the crimes of the terrorist and child-killing Zionist regime; As the other side of the coin of Zionism, Takfiri groups have targeted the lives and property of Parachinar Shiites.

Al-Mustafa International University offers condolences to the Muslim nation of Pakistan, especially the families of the oppressed martyrs of these terrorist attacks, and expressing concern over the escalation of the security situation in this region, Al-Mustafa University strongly condemns the crimes committed against the Shiites of Parachinar and expresses sympathy with the families of the martyrs and the injured, the army and asks the law enforcement agencies of the honorable government of Pakistan to deal seriously with the security disruptors and perpetrators of this crime and provide complete security for the residents of Parachinar.

On June 23, terrorists of the Daesh-linked group “Lashkar-i-Jhangvi al-Alami” targeted an Al-Quds rally in Parachinar and killed more than 100 people.

Parachinar, capital of Kurram Agency tribal area in NW of Pakistan with 50,000 population, is a mainly Shia town which had already suffered two deadly bomb blasts in its markets earlier this year.

After the deadly attacks hundreds of protesters staged a peaceful sit-in against the cowardly act and demanded the government to provide security to the people of Parachinar.

They ended their sit-in after Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the town and assured the people of better security. The visit by the army chief was warmly appreciated by people of Parachinar.

In January this year a bomb blast killed 24 people in a Parachinar market. The attack was claimed by the Daesh-linked terrorist group “Lashkar-i-Jhangvi al-Alami”.
